Ben Tucker, Director of Legal Affairs, Adjudications and Hearings for the Maine BMV has issued the following statement, announcing in essence that all BMV administrative hearings for the remainder of March are continued with a stay of suspension in place, due to COVID-19 of Wuhan origin.

All BMV administrative hearings scheduled for March are postponed as a precautionary measure. BMV is not yet aware of any confirmed or suspected cases of Covid infection in its offices as of today, March 13.  We will reassess the situation in several weeks regarding rescheduling.

BMV clerks will do their best over the next few days to contact law offices about each case and issue notices.

By default, all suspensions will be STAYED.  If you do not want a stay, please contact BMV (hearings.bmv@maine.gov) or call 624-9000, ext. 52113.

If any attorney has specific questions, call Ben Tucker directly. *

Stay safe!

Ben Tucker
